Canucks @ Stars Pre Game

Happy New Years everyone.

Tonight's game will be an important game in the standings for the Canucks, with games in hand they can start putting points between them and the Stars for 2nd place in the NHL. It's also an important game if we want to keep pace with the Wings.

They had a big win the other night and they can't have a let down tonight against the Stars. The Stars are coming off a game last night and if the Canuck's can jump on them early they should be able to create a lead. There's really no excuse for not coming out on fire tonight against what should be a tired Stars team.

The Canuck's have played a great team game in front of Schneider this year and they will have to do that again tonight. Defensive game comes first with a strong counter punch. If they can do that this year we have to believe Schneider will continue his solid play in goal.  As a side note, congrats to Luongo and his wife on having a baby boy. It's nice this year that he doesn't have to rush back into a game like he had to do in previous years. What a luxury having Schneider on the team has been this year.

Look to the PK and PP to lead the Canuck's tonight.

Kesler will keep his point scoring streak going. He matches up very well against either Richards or Ribero for the Stars and his game as of late is pretty much unstoppable.

Time to enjoy the 3rd period of the World Jrs. game tonight.
