Canucks @ Sharks Post Game

Canucks 4 Sharks 3

This is late so I will keep it short.

What a game by everyone as a whole.

A win usually starts with your starting goalie. Schneider got the call against the Sharks, who are a very good team, and he played very well stopping 32 of 35 shots. In recent years it hasn't been very common for a Canuck's team to be able to put the back up in against a top NHL team and expect a victory. This year they have that luxury and it's a huge thing for the team and Luongo this year.

My next big key thing for the game against the Sharks was a big game by the top line. They definitely brought that by starting off the game right with the first goal. Daniel Sedin leads the league with 8 opening game goals. And then there's Burrows, he is starting to come around rounding into mid season form and starting to finish the puck. He's positioning himself in front of the net getting tips and dirty goals. That's where he needs to be to be successful.

Because of Kesler being injured I mentioned the defence needed to step up and put points on the board. Against a top team like SJ you'll always need good offensive output from your defensive units and against the Sharks it was Ehrhoff with two assists, Edler with a goal and Ballard with another assist. Great job by the defence to step up when needed.

Speaking of Kesler, if that's how he plays injured he is easily developing into the roll of the type of player everyone on the team must look up to. What an effort, it will be needed come playoffs.

Finally, Tanner Glass. He answered the bell when Mayers wanted the fight and then when the team went down 3-2 he found another dance partner and tangoed one more time. The second fight was the big one for the team. It stole a lot of momentum from the game, something on the road that can go a little unnoticed but mean a whole lot to the team.

Great team effort and a whole new level of heart.

Pre Game for Canucks Vs Flames coming soon.
